How Do You Ground Your Energy? (Transcript)

Episode transcript, ShelbyRADIO ยท 33 minutes
Short answer: To ground, you draw your spiritual energy down from above your head, through each of your chakras, and out the bottom of your right foot into the earth, then you do something real with what you felt. Grounding is an energy process, not a mental one. Walking barefoot on the grass and sitting by a tree can help, but if you use them to escape your life, they can take you further out of your body. True grounding means being in the reality of your own personal space and dealing with what's actually in front of you.

Grounding works differently now (00:00)
Hello, welcome to ShelbyRADIO. I am Shelby Carino, and today we're going to discuss how to ground. Get ready for some surprises, because what you're about to hear is not what you're used to hearing. That might be why you've been having a hard time grounding.
The old way of grounding is not going to work in the new realm of the fifth dimension. So we have to learn how to ground differently, and that is what we're going to talk about today.
Draw your spiritual energy down through your body (01:52)
I want to set the stage right away. Set the intention that your spiritual energy is being taken from high above you. Like a string, you're pulling that spiritual energy of you through the top of your head. You're moving it into your throat, into your heart chakra, down into your solar plexus, then into your second chakra and into your root chakra.
Feel it in your root chakra, at the base of your tailbone. Then feel that energy go through your right leg specifically and out the bottom of your right foot into the ground.
Why the right leg and the right foot? Because that is the feeling side of your body. The left side holds the belief systems, and we don't need to put more belief systems in there. We want to ground your feelings from the spiritual plane. We want to take what you've been working on spiritually, draw it all the way in and through every chakra in your body until it comes out the bottom of your foot and roots down into the ground.
When that happens, if anything needs to shake, rattle, roll and get loose in your energetic frequency, you're now in a prime position for those feelings to surface in whatever energy center they're in. Then you can keep moving on a more aligned healing path in your process.
The real test of a spiritual path (04:12)
I lead with that because so many people, and I know I was one of them back in the day, have an ego where we think we're on a spiritual path because we're doing spiritual things. But the only way you can really tell if someone is on a spiritual path is what happens when you challenge their spiritual energy. When you exchange spiritual energy, you can tell where someone really is.
Let me give you an example. I was at the gym one day and ran into a woman I hadn't seen in a while. We were catching up and bantering back and forth. We have two totally different walks of life. We weren't talking spiritual guru stuff. We were just having a normal conversation about what's going on in the world.
At a certain point I said, "What's really going to happen is there's about to be a massive movement of energy that comes in all at once and lights everybody up in their vibration. Where people are in that vibration will decide how they move forward, because spirit has to be brought back into the planet, and we ourselves are spirit."
It came out of my mouth so powerfully that she said, "I just got chill bumps when you said that," and her heart chakra warmed up. In that moment we exchanged a spiritual energy, a spiritual connection. She was connected into spirit. When that happens, it's fleeting. It comes in, you feel it, and then it goes out.
Doing something with the feeling (07:28)
What matters is what happens after that. How do you ground that feeling so it turns into something in your world? I said it, I sent it, she felt it, we exchanged it. So what did I do with it when I got home from the gym? I put it into my podcast episode. I grounded the information and the influence, because I needed to share it and put that learning and energy out into the world.
That's how I grounded it. I had the feeling, and then I did something with the feeling. That's one example, and I'm not expecting everyone to have a podcast.
More than feet in the grass (08:24)
If you're listening, you might be thinking, "Shelby, I just need to know, do I go outside and put my feet in the dirt and walk on the grass?" I don't need to tell you that. That's simple spiritual information. If you want to ground, go outside, walk around, put your feet in the soil or on the grass, or do a grounding meditation. That information is everywhere on the internet.
What isn't out there, as we move into the fifth dimension, is the reality of bringing the spiritual energy that's high above you and outside of you down and collapsing it into your personal space. You ground the spiritual energy in your personal space, so you have a personal spiritual process, not a process of escapism and illusion.
From the clouds to spiritual reality (10:16)
When people begin waking up and getting into spiritual information, they often get very flighty, very airy-fairy. My mentor used to say I was an airhead, because my energy was always in the clouds. Through her mentorship and NLP, I had to get into my body. I had to take what was in the air and put it into the ground. Meeting Joe and having a man around me grounded things even more.
Then I got into actual spiritual reality. I wasn't in spiritual escapism anymore. I was in a personal experience of what was going on in my life that I couldn't escape from. So I had to do the work. I had to do the energy reframes and belief changes, work with different people and be in a group, all the things that kept moving that personal spiritual energy so I could anchor it into the earth.
That's how I could actually be at home on the earth. Even though I thought I was living here, my energy was way out of my body. Energetically, I was living in the clouds, on another planet. So we have to anchor the energies we bring up inside ourselves and put them into the earth. That's what I call energy reframes.
A spiritual hit that brought me home (12:08)
Circumstances show up in our lives, and they affect our energy. Not long ago I witnessed a huge black Newfoundland dog get hit by a car. That circumstance affected my energy all day long.
I had just left an appointment with the chiropractor and energy worker who helps clear me, and a lot had opened up in my crown chakra. I was way up there. I wasn't even 10 or 15 minutes from her place when I saw that dog get hit, and it grounded all of that energy into my body very quickly. It dropped me into, "Oh my God, I live here on the planet. I'm not in the clouds anymore. Shelby, you're in a body. This is what's happening with people and animals on the planet."
How did I reframe that energy? Later that night I came home and recorded a podcast about it. But it took me all day to move through that circumstance and get to a place where I was grounded and safe enough to talk about it, because it shook me.
Signs you're not grounded (14:56)
If you're feeling disconnected, scattered or overwhelmed, or anxiety is showing up, you're not grounded. You're airy-fairy, up in the clouds. If you're bumping into things, or forgetting whether you locked the car or turned off the coffee pot, you're not in your body.
So stop for a second and breathe. Pull all that spiritual energy that's up outside your head and breathe it all the way down into your body, through your chakras and out your right foot. I say right foot on purpose, but you can put it through your left foot too, and come back to the planet.
Every time you move, your energy might be getting up out of your body. If you're not anchored to the ground, you're more prone to these spiritual hits. Seeing that dog get hit was a spiritual hit to my energy, and a reminder. I should have sat there for 10 or 15 minutes and let the energy ground, or had Joe come with me and hug me back into my body. Instead I was in the car driving. If you don't ground, you can get involved in things that don't feel good in your spiritual energy.
Rope your energy back in (16:48)
If you have a lot of energy flying around and dispersing outside of yourself, you can intentionally get a lasso and see yourself roping that energy back into you. Put it into your heart, or wherever in your body you feel it needs to go. If that energy isn't balanced, or you have too much of it, see it going down into the earth. Or take a walk, sit by a tree or work out.
You have to learn your own alchemy, how you anchor the energies from spirit through your body and down into the earth so you're here on earth. That's going to look different for everybody.
Grounding is being in reality (18:12)
Grounding is not just sitting on a yoga mat, doing a meditation, sitting by a tree and still doing spiritual escapism. Grounding is being in reality. You have to be in the reality of your personal space. I can't say that enough.
There's no judgment on spending time outside in nature and resetting your energy. Of course we need that, because it connects us more into the earth. But if you're not in reality, those things can actually be a hindrance. They can take you further out into the energies and help you escape even more, because you're not dealing with real life. You have to make sure it's appropriate.
I've seen so many people on the spiritual path who call themselves lightworkers who are so in the clouds and so caught up in selling illusions that they don't even speak about the here and now. We have a belief that spirituality is supposed to be airy-fairy, that you're supposed to look and talk differently. I tell people to run away from that, because those people aren't grounded. How are you going to have traction talking to someone who isn't grounded?
Grounding the truth of your soul (20:32)
As we recall who we are at a soul level, we're grounding the truth of our soul. We're calling those parts of ourselves into the body so we can have a personal expansion of our spirit. This is where we learn to live from the heart chakra, which is what the fifth dimension is about. That's where we gain wisdom, because we set up certain circumstances on our path so we can ground those feelings into the body and our spiritual energy remembers how it's supposed to be.
When I saw that dog get hit, a memory came up: "I am so glad I'm not always high in the clouds like that, where I feel like I'm in a completely different dimension. I'm so glad I've reframed my energy so I feel more human, even though I'm actually more connected to my spirit than ever." I have fewer and fewer of those experiences that throw me into my heart chakra to remind me of how humanity is. But in that moment I needed the spiritual hit, the reminder: "This is still going on out here, Shelby. Pay attention. You need to speak about this."
Signs, dreams and the heart (23:20)
As you wake up and your soul begins to reorganize itself to its own truth, that's when you see the 11:11s. You start seeing signs and symbols on clocks and in numbers on receipts, or having strange dreams. Your mind and your subconscious are beginning to flow in new ways that are trying to wake you up to a new way of living. The only person who can change how you live, how you do your spirit and how you ground is you.
In the fifth dimension we have to wake up the heart center, because that's where we're leading from, and yet we're still battling the mind. So as we expand the heart energy, it's even more important to remember how we're connected from spirit down to the earth. Then learning how to be awake and move through spiritual energy gets a little easier. And we learn there isn't necessarily a right way or a wrong way. There's just the way.
People are done with illusions (24:44)
Right now I'm working with influential people in the lightworker community, people with YouTube channels and people who do readings. They're finding me because they don't understand why they're losing rapport with people, why their gift isn't as strong, why they're losing clients and why their following is shrinking.
It's because people are done with illusions. They're done being sold a story. They want to hear something grounded in the reality of what spirituality really is. When they have that, they remember in their spirit how to wake up, face the circumstances in their personal world, and walk in faith to get the wisdom to overcome them. A lot of people talking about spirituality only talk about the airy-fairy, feel-good side because they just want to feel good. That's not grounded.
A time of resetting (27:04)
Whenever you're listening to this, we always come back on our timelines to pick up what we've missed. We're in energies that are resetting systems on many levels, mainly energetic, and that affects us personally. Our old spiritual inadequacies are having to readjust and reset, and in turn we have to reset the relationship with ourselves so we can learn and remember how to do the alchemy of energy.
It's not logic. It's energetic. So you have to find your energy teachers and mentors, and follow them only if they've transformed it inside of themselves, because that's the only way it can really transfer. It has to move person to person in the energy because they've done it. You can't just talk about something from the mind without having integrated it in your body, or you're a false prophet in the energy. People can feel whether it's valid.
Whether you work in the spiritual world or you're just living your daily life, it's about how we talk to people, like that woman at the gym. We have totally different missions in life, but we still connected in spirit. That happened because I was able to ground, shift that energy and work with the spirit of her energy to accomplish whatever we needed to in that moment.
Life will get your attention (29:52)
As we move further into the fifth dimension, I strongly encourage you to make sure your head isn't in the clouds and that you're grounding. Here's how you'll know you're grounding: you're going to have some hiccups and bumps in your personal world, because it's the spiritual energy trying to ground into your reality to get your attention about what you need to shift and change.
If you're being stubborn, stuck and unwilling to be flexible, you may be able to ride it out for a while. But if your spirit is saying you need to move from this city to that city, or from this job to that job, or even throw out that flower pot in the backyard, and you've been ignoring it, something is going to happen to get your attention one way or another. It's going to ground in that energy like a lightning bolt.
None of us are safe from that. I didn't expect to see that dog get hit. That wasn't in my daily thought process. It was a spiritual hit, and it got my attention. It woke me up differently, put me in my body and got me into action. So none of us are safe from the grounding. We just need to be more aware of what we're doing.
Harness the tornado within (31:44)
We have to take spirit energy, put it into the body and put it into the earth, so we can be a tornado inside our own force field and learn how to harness and alchemize the tornado going on within us. Then we're in a better position to be in rapport with others, and to have influence with others, when their own tornado gets set off inside of them.
Thank you so much for listening, and thank you for grounding into this episode.
Frequently asked questions
How do you ground your energy quickly?
Stop, breathe and pull your spiritual energy down from above your head, through each chakra, and out the bottom of your right foot into the earth. If your energy feels scattered, picture lassoing it back into your heart, then send any excess down into the ground.
Why does grounding through the right foot matter?
Shelby teaches that the right side of the body is the feeling side, while the left side holds belief systems. Grounding through the right foot anchors your feelings from the spiritual plane, though you can use the left foot too.
What are signs you're not grounded?
Feeling scattered, disconnected, overwhelmed or anxious, bumping into things, and forgetting whether you locked the car or turned off the coffee pot are all signs your energy is out of your body. If anxiety or forgetfulness is persistent, please also talk with your doctor.
Is walking barefoot in nature enough to ground?
It helps connect you to the earth, but it isn't the whole picture. If time in nature becomes a way to escape your life, it can take you further out of your body. Real grounding means being present in the reality of your personal space.
